Welcome to HealthCare Reform
In 2011!
I’ve been in the Insurance Industry for over 22 years. The past year
has been a great challenge. For not only myself and my agency but also for
the clients I serve.
We’ve seen a first in American history where the Government dictates how much
a business can make and what kind of losses it has to incur.
Yes, to me this IS unconstitutional and the Federal Government has no business
stifling Private business.
This is also going to hurt every citizen. It already is. Now hang on all those
that are for the current reform…think a little bit & read on.
Several
issues have been brought up. These are:
§ Uninsured
with pre-existing conditions that can’t get coverage.
§ A
person can be dropped from coverage if they get sick.
§ Many
are uninsured and can’t afford it.
§ Everyone
should have access to healthcare.
Yes, I
do agree that everyone should have access to healthcare.
Over all these years I have found that the majority of people without
coverage, Choose Not to have it!
I also have never seen, had happen, or heard of a person being dropped by their
insurance company because they get sick.
I’ve seen them dropped because they didn’t pay their premiums!
This is the real truth if you get to the bottom of it. It is against the
law for a company to single out an individual because of their health & not
renew their policy.
They may lose coverage from a group plan from an employer they have been with,
but would be guaranteed coverage when their COBRA ended.
Then there are some that are here illegally. I would like to know, what
part of “Illegal” doesn’t the Government understand??
If they come in for treatment, I (as many others) believe they should
be treated so death doesn’t occur but then ~ send them back home!
The figures that the government has produced are not accurate. There are
also different options for those people with pre-existing conditions to get
coverage ~ Guaranteed.
I can get anyone coverage even if they have had cancer, heart attack,
stroke or whatever. If you know of someone ~ Call me!

I
have seen on a state level mandates such as the federal law over the years.
Three things will happen. (They already are)
§ An
Insurance company will go bankrupt & become insolvent
§ They
will pull out of the market altogether
§ The
premiums will at Least Double
There
is no other course. Companies pay out claims and to do that they have to take in
Premium dollars.
If they are mandated by law, that they Have to pay all pre-existing conditions
on folks who have applied for coverage with the condition already…
They are going to be paying out MUCH more in claims.
There are ALREADY in place different options for those people. State funded
plans, Medicaid, And a couple Guaranteed issue plans by private companies.
After Jan. 1st 2014, you can be “fined” for not buying health coverage.
Between $200- $1200 a year for the average middle class.
Does that exist anymore? For those making over $50,000 more! it’s a
“scale” In most cases, it’s cheaper to pay the fine than buy the insurance
(Until something happens.)
Then, since an Insurance company HAS to cover you and pay your claims,
most will wait till it’s needed, then buy it.
This “tactic” will drive up the costs even more because it creates
a group of “Adverse
Selection” as Insurance company underwriters and actuaries call it. A
group of unhealthily individuals.
Wouldn’t it be nice not to pay home owners insurance and wait till your house
burns down? THEN go buy insurance to pay for it!? It’s the same thing.
Really folks…….what do YOU think this will do to premiums and healthcare in
America?
There are better and more effective ways to healthcare reform.
Any
comments, suggestions, or questions are welcome.
Best
